Helping kids, caregivers, & families connect and grow together

Welcome!

Does your child show signs of anxiety, aggression, defiance, or low self-esteem?

Are you frustrated that other people just don't seem to get your kid or understand how hard it all feels?

Do you feel stuck in caregiving "shoulds" that seem to just leave you all feeling stuck in the same pattern of conflict and dysregulation?

I'm here to help.

Specializing in supporting neurodiverse children and families

I see myself as a curious and compassionate partner to children and their caregivers as we explore the needs under "problematic" behaviors. In playful and engaging ways, together we learn to meet these challenges with confidence and connection.

About Laura Alexander

I am deeply rooted in a person-centered, empowering approach. I believe all behaviors, even the biggest and most confusing ones, are our body's ways of protecting us. I work to help kids and caregivers better understand the challenges they face, so they can be more equipped to be with those challenges in safer and more regulated ways. I incorporate elements of Polyvagal Theory and body-based regulation strategies into all of my work. I also utilize cognitive-behavioral and family systems approaches both in play therapy and individual work with adults and caregivers.

I am a mom of two wonderfully neurodiverse kids, and I get how hard and how beautiful parenting can be. Whether you are looking for a warm, fun and compassionate play therapist for your child or support for yourself, I would love the opportunity to see if I am a good fit for you and your family.
